Test Rationale

TEST RATIONALE 


Knowledge: The multiple choice format shows if the student knows the correct definition. 
Comprehension:  The number line test measures how well the student can distinguish between the value of a debit and credit.  
Analysis: This test showed if the student could differentiate between debits and credit using accounting transactions.
Application: The essay question reveals if the student has mastered the debit and credit concept by explaining the difference and applying it to the double-entry bookkeeping system.

Three Measurable Learning Objectives
Adult Education Accounting 101

1.      Given a list of alternative accounting terms on a multiple-choice test, the student will select the definitions for the terms debit and credit with 100% accuracy.

2.      The student will differentiate between a debit and credit on the number line by placing a circle around the debit and a line under the credit.

3.      The student will show an understanding of how to record accounting transactions by placing the debit or credit in the appropriate column from a list of accounting transactions.
